About Me

After completing my Masters Degree at the Institute of Work Psychology in Sheffield University, I began my career with West Yorkshire Police. As part of the team responsible for designing assessments to recruit and promote officers, I learned alot about human potential, leadership and organizational culture. I even learned how to write short plays for the purpose of testing various leadership skills - an experience which would prove particularly helpful when I began writing novels!

During my time working as a consultant psychologist I've had the privaledge of working with a wide range of public and private sector clients across the UK and overseas. These have included the Crown Prosecution Service, the NHS, the MOD, Argos Retail Group, O2, Jacuzzi UK, Aviva and many more. I have spoken at their leadership conferences, supported change programmes, delivered team development interventions and coached individuals.

I have also delivered a range of courses for the Chartered Institute of Public Relations for over 15 years on topics such as Communicating Change, Effective People Management, Building Resilience and The Use of Psychology in Campaign Design.

After having my daughter in 2013 I decided to make a concerted effort to carve a second career as a fiction writer - something I had long aspired to do. I signed a contract with Penguin Random House in 2018 and have subsequently published four crime thriller novels in the Dr Bloom series. My writing and consulting careers now run in parallel which makes for a busy but fascinating life.
